Astounding!

I had known for some time of Lynn Amicucci’s skills, but never had the opportunity to experience them first hand. Eleven months ago, I had most of the interior of my home painted and never put any artwork back up on the walls. I was stuck. I contacted Lynn to help me decide what to hang and where to hang it.

Although my only intention was to hang artwork, I explained to Lynn how we use the living room and that I wasn’t happy with the furniture combination and the clutter of my husband’s musical equipment. I had recently absorbed some furniture and artwork from my parents’ home and my husband didn’t want to part with our older furniture, leaving me with a room of mismatched furniture and a sense of compromise. It wasn’t comfortable.

I could see Lynn’s wheels turning. First she asked if we could move the loveseat away from the wall. Honestly, the concept of having furniture floating in the middle of a room was foreign to me and I got nervous. She then wanted to move a table and then turn the rug 90 degrees. The situation was clearly moving out of my comfort zone, but she assured me that we could always move everything back. The thought also crossed my mind, “If I don’t like it, how can I bring myself to tell her?”

I must say, after a few quick moves, the room was transported to a very functional, visually pleasing comfortable living space. She incorporated both mine and my husband’s wishes and we never had to part with anything or purchase anything new. She grouped two separate sets of furniture, but pulled them together with the rug and coffee table. Each furniture grouping is also framed by complementary artwork. My husband’s musical equipment is now organized in a spot behind the furniture where it is easily accessible, yet out of view.

Lynn clearly has an innate talent of vision and taste. This, combined with her kindness and enthusiasm made for such a positive experience. When someone comes into your home to re-arrange things, it can give you a feeling of vulnerability. Lynn’s nonjudgmental approach made it fun and rewarding. Not only do I now have an interesting display of artwork on my walls, I also have a visually pleasing, yet functional room. Honestly, I don’t think that I will make any future decisions in any other room without consulting her first.

Your work in organizing and arranging my upstairs hall pictures gave a fresh new look to the space, and presented those tired family photos in such a lovely, artistic way. When it was time to redecorate my den, your ideas with placement, keen eye for color, and your assistance shopping really helped to make the room a true success! Amongst my favorite of your decorating skills is your ability to position and group furniture (whether new or existing) into beautiful, inviting arrangements—punctuated with lovely vignettes, You have a great eye and really are “outside the box!”
